Women in all ten regions of Cameroon joined their counterparts world wide to celebrate this edition of the international Women’s day 2023 under the UN theme “DigiAll: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”
The United Nations theme for this year’s celebration is aimed at celebrating women driving digital innovation & technological advancement. According to the UN , women have made untold contributions to the digital world from the earliest days of computing to the present age of virtual realities and artificial intelligence. However, today, a persistent gender gap in digital access keeps women from unlocking technology’s full potential.
Digital technology is opening new doors for global empowerment for women, girls and other marginalized groups. Reason why this March 8 , the UN women made a call on governments, activists and the private to power on in the efforts to make the digital world safer, more inclusive and more equitable in order to better the future of women and girls and the entire humanity.
