On Wednesday, 19th February 2025, Technology Initiatives for Development (TI4DEV) embarked on its maiden outreach at Christian Community College (CCC) in Buea, Cameroon. The event was a resounding success, with massive attendance by enthusiastic students eager to explore the world of technology and digital design.
Overcoming Challenges with Determination
Despite facing hurdles such as constant blackouts in the school vicinity, our team arrived fully prepared with a 3000-watt generator, laptop and all the necessary equipment to ensure the training session was both uninterrupted and enriching. Our resolve to inspire and empower the youth was evident as we navigated these challenges, demonstrating that determination and adaptability are key components of innovation.
A Dynamic Training Session on Logo Design
The training session was designed to introduce the students to the fundamentals of graphic design, with a special focus on logo creation—a skill that is increasingly valuable in today’s digital world. Participants were given hands-on experience using Canva, a powerful graphic design tool. Our instructors walked them through:
- Understanding Canva: The basics of the platform, including how to access and navigate its features.
- Mastering Design Elements: An introduction to various design elements and how to effectively use them to create visually appealing content.
- Crafting Unique Logos: Step-by-step guidance on designing a logo that reflects creativity and innovation.
